Wednesday Sept.10th
This morning we headed toward Salt Lake City with the anticipation that today we would meet friends Judy and Mike and low and behold that's exactly what happened. What a wonderful feeling to see people we know and care about.
The first thing Mike said to me was the name of the mountain we could see from the motel. He really does know tons of stuff about all the mountains and I've come to believe him. They had been driving for three days straight and I knew they would be exhausted, so after chatting our heads off over this or that we headed out for a light dinner.
When we arrived around noon today we asked if there was a park close by and got the answer yes there was. So we had our lunch at this cute little park about a block away.
We are staying in what I would call a suburb of SLC that's called Murray. It is around 6-7 miles from the heart of SLC and that is just fine with us.
Sometimes when booking lodging ahead of time, even tho we check all the possibilities, it turns out to be less than expected. That is not the case here at all. This place is called The Pavilion Inn and is extremely nice. The price was quite low thus the cause for concern. Tomorrow we will see what they mean by a full hot breakfast. They do have a special room set aside from five to six for happy hours. We will have to try that out tomorrow as today we had our HH in our room. And I know Judy will be happy because they have an on site laundry. They even have a pool. Actually at first I thought this place was a hotel because it's three stories tall. So if any of you are coming to SLC keep this place in mind.
